Beauty and functionality join forces in the design of ACANTH-HANG, inspired by the typical ornamental motifs that reproduce acanthus leaves, utilized in the past to frame mirrors or as botanical flourishes that add lively elegance around a painting, on furniture, or on the walls of historic villas featuring rich stuccowork.

Marcantonio reproduces this precious image with the aim of creating a new object in porcelain, painted by hand in 24k gold, with a decorative but also a functional purpose.

ACANTH-HANG can be utilized to decorate a wall at the entrance to a house, placed behind a sofa or along a corridor – but at the same time, it is a true coat rack.

Marcantonio, born '76.

He attended the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts. As soon as he graduated, he began working as a theatrical set designer and collaborating with various architects.

Soon he started to create unique design pieces while working on an Artistic production. Step by step the two careers began to contaminate each other and his design gets enriched with artistic concepts.

The connections between Man and Nature are his favorite topic, with his original interpretation of Nature’s dynamics and beauties showing Man’s attitude to alter the original. He learned from Art how an idea can be elegant, which is why he is always looking for pure and synthetic concepts.
